Ethics Policy
Our Commitment
TIJ News is committed to the highest standards of investigative journalism. Our reporting is guided by principles of accuracy, fairness, independence, and accountability.
Accuracy
We verify information through multiple sources before publication. Every claim in our reporting is supported by publicly available evidence — government records, court filings, financial disclosures, or other documented sources. We link to primary sources wherever possible so readers can verify our work independently.
Independence
Our editorial decisions are made independently of any political party, government body, corporation, or interest group. We investigate wrongdoing and institutional failure regardless of political affiliation. Our coverage spans the full political spectrum — from corporate ESG greenwashing to far-right financial scams, from government waste under any administration to NGO mismanagement across ideological lines.
Fairness
We seek comment from the subjects of our investigations before publication. We present evidence in context and avoid misleading framing. We distinguish clearly between established facts and analysis or opinion.
Corrections
When we make errors, we correct them promptly and transparently. Corrections are noted within the article and, for significant errors, a correction notice is published. Requests for corrections should be sent to corrections@tij.news.
Source Protection
We protect the identity of confidential sources. We do not reveal source identities without explicit consent, and we will contest any legal action seeking to compel such disclosure.
Conflicts of Interest
Our journalists disclose potential conflicts of interest to editors before beginning any investigation. We do not accept gifts, favors, or compensation from the subjects of our reporting. We do not allow advertisers or donors to influence editorial content.
Public Interest
Our investigations serve the public interest. We focus on systemic issues, institutional accountability, and the misuse of public resources and public trust. We believe an informed citizenry is essential to a functioning democracy.
