The Investigative Journal depends on informed sources. If you have evidence of waste, fraud, corruption, or abuse of power — whether in government, corporations, nonprofits, or political organizations — we want to hear from you.
What Makes a Good Tip
The strongest tips come with documentation: public records, financial filings, internal communications, contracts, audits, or court filings. We prioritize tips backed by verifiable evidence from official sources such as SEC EDGAR, IRS 990s, PACER, FEC filings, state comptroller records, or government databases.
Your Privacy
We take source protection seriously. You may submit tips anonymously — the name and email fields are optional. We will never publish identifying information about a source without explicit written consent. If you provide contact information, it will be used solely to follow up on your tip and will not be shared with third parties.

Every tip is reviewed by our editorial team. If your tip leads to an investigation, we will verify all claims independently through public records and official sources before publishing. We adhere to strict editorial standards: every factual claim must be sourced to verifiable documents, and we use hedging language for any inferential connections. Our investigations follow the same rigorous methodology whether the subject is a progressive nonprofit, a conservative PAC, a multinational corporation, or a government agency.
